Why is my fps limited to 60

Oct 19, 2020 · When i see my task manager GPU goes 50-60% CPU goes 30% but suddenly my GPU goes 0% during 3-4 second then goes up to 50% during 3-4 second it goes down to 0% then up, of course FPS too .i think there is no temperature problem cuz my cooler boost was working (it is so loud). i was charging and i set to performance my power settings. My monitor supports up to 144 Hz, but I've still seen people getting in the high hundreds, if not low thousands. I don't need someone to say "you don't need that many FPS", that's not the point. I want to know how and where it is being capped. My processor is an i7-5820k and 16GB of RAM, so it's not being bottle-necked by anything. For potato computers that never got beyond 60 FPS I reckon that you should put it as uncapped. If you have a god PC, cap it somewhere around 20 frames above your refresh rate to get the smoothest possible experience since capping it at the exact refresh rate could create input lag. Try pressing F3 and watching the FPS when you limit it to 60. Chances are, even if it says your FPS is 130+, your monitor still renders at 60 FPS since that's as far as its power can go.
